PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball lifter which can smoothly transport spherical bodies from a low position to a high position without causing balls to get caught. SOLUTION: The carrying-in section 3 and the carrying-out section 4 of spherical bodies 9 are connected in nearly facing positions through a ball lifting mechanism section 2. The delivery position of spherical bodies 9 from the carrying-in section 3 to the ball lifting mechanism section 2 is arranged in a higher position than that of the spherical bodies 9 from the ball lifting mechanism section 2 to the carrying-out section 4. The ball lifting mechanism section 2 has guide sections 8 provided on the outside periphery side of a rotary member 6 rotating around a horizontal shaft, the mechanism section rotating together with the rotary member 6 and delivering the spherical bodies 9 delivered from the carrying-in section 3 to the carrying-out section 4 while holding the spherical bodies. The guide sections 8 are formed in the shape of a crochet hook when viewed from the side with respect to the rotation direction by: semispherical recessed portions 11 to be arranged rearward with respect to the rotation direction of the rotary member 6; and guide portions 12 inclining to the front side of the rotation direction with respect to the normal N of the rotary member 6 continuing from the recessed portions 11.
