<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server system that makes it possible to quickly mount a variety of units in slots in the accurate positions that meet rules when the units such as server blades are manually added into a storage case. <P>SOLUTION: When respective units such as a server blade 2, a cooling fan unit 3 and a power supply unit 4 are mounted in a plurality of slots 101-124, 201-212, 301-304, a device information receiving means 12, prior to mounting, reads device information retained in the units to be mounted, and a management means 11 determines the slots in the optimum mounting positions of the units to be mounted based on the device information and previously stored mounting rule information.
