<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a head suited for standardizing a part of an outer die. <P>SOLUTION: A die 2 for use in this manufacturing method has the outer die 3 and a core 8 disposed inside the outer die 3. The outer die 3 has a first die (a cope 4), a second die (a drag 6) and a parting line p1 formed of the first die and the second die. The outer die 3 has a thickness added portion 90 extending from the parting line p1. The thickness added portion 90 provides a wax molding with a thickness exceeding a design thickness. This manufacturing method provides a plurality of types of heads by combinedly using a plurality of types of the second dies with respect to a single first die while standardizing the first die. The thickness added portion 90 may compensate die displacement at the parting line p1.
