PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine capable of detecting the occurrence of abnormality due to corrosion of the cooling device. SOLUTION: This cooling device for the internal combustion engine includes: a tube material formed out of a conductive core material and a conductive coating material; an electric potential difference acquisition means acquiring electric potential difference between the core material and the coating material; and an abnormality detection means detecting occurrence of abnormality due to corrosion of the tube material if an acquired value acquired by the electric potential difference acquisition means is continuously kept lower than a first abnormality judgment value predetermined in a range of electric potential difference during formation of the tube material for a prescribed period of time or longer.
