<p>A clutch (61) for a seat belt retractor is constructed from a latch ring (50) rotating together with a spindle (161) and having outer teeth (50a) on the outer periphery of the latch ring, a pawl (49) having an engaging section (49c) engageable with the outer teeth (50a) of the latch ring (50) and pivotable so that the engaging section (49c) moves between a first position (P1) at which the engaging section (49c) is positioned when a motor (34) is not activated, a second position (P2) at which the engaging section (49c) is positioned when the motor (34) is activated to cause the engaging section (49c) to engage with the outer teeth (50a), and a third position (P3) at which the engaging section (49c) is positioned on the radially opposite side of the first position (P1) from the second position (P2) when a pretensioner (16) is activated, and a return preventing mechanism constructed from a spring member (52) and a projection (53) which prevent the pawl (49) from returning to the first position (P1) and the second position (P2) after moving to the third position (P3).</p> |
