<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device for preventing, over a long period, toner from being scattered and an defective image from being generated, and preventing a machine from being stopped due to a torque increase. <P>SOLUTION: This developing device 4 has a supply conveying path 9 for supplying a developer to a developing roller 5, a collection conveying path 7 for conveying the developer collected from the developing roller, and a stirring conveying path 10 for receiving the unused excessive developer conveyed to a downstream of the supply conveying path 9, and the collected developer conveyed to a downstream of the collection conveying path 7, and for supplying them to the supply conveying path 9 while stirring them. The conveying paths 7, 9, 10 are partitioned by the first and second partitioning walls 133, 134, the stirring conveying path 10 and the conveying path 7 are provided in contact with each other, and the supply conveying path 9 is provided in a position higher than the conveying path 7 and the stirring conveying path 10.
