The device (1) has a display area (7) and a film (5) that is provided as a deep-drawn film with a front side and a rear side. The film has a mechanical attenuation in a form of slots, in an edge area of the display area or outside the display area. The attenuation extends over approximately 40 to 50 percentages of material thicknesses of an undeformed film. A display field (2) is provided adjacent to the display area, where the attenuation is provided between the field and the display area. The film has a bulge area (50) arranged around an end section (30) of a scale (3) i.e. tachometer. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a film of a display device or a display device.
