PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor handrail driving device which can adjust handrail speed correctly and easily. SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor handrail driving device includes a frame; a rotary shaft arranged rotatably to the frame; a tapered driving roller arranged slidably in an axial direction on the rotary shaft and rotatably with the shaft, and contacting the handrail of the passenger conveyer to drive the hand rail; and a position adjustment device attached to the frame associated on the rotary shaft associated with the driving roller and setting the axial directional position on the rotary shaft adjustable, while allowing rotation of the driving roller.
