PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently generate reaction force relative to rear-end collision load by a tail gate at rear part collision, to sufficiently perform transmission of the collision load to a front side of a vehicle body, and to avoid rear part collision of a riding-up mode. SOLUTION: In the vehicle body rear part structure for the automobile, a T shape reinforcement beam 27 by a lateral beam 27A provided so as to cross the tail gate 9 in a vehicle width direction and a vertical beam 27B for connecting the lateral beam 27A and a lower edge part of the tail gate 9 at a central part in the vehicle width direction of the tail gate 9 are provided on the tail gate 27, and a catcher 31 for engaging/connecting the tail gate 9 to a vehicle body constitution member existing on a peripheral edge of a rear part opening 7 at rear part collision is provided.
