<p>PURPOSE: To reduce time for transporting series of recording media between a storing cell and a data recorder by executing swapping operation at each step of a carrier. CONSTITUTION: Libraries 20 and 21 automatically moves various kinds of optical media held by storing cells in these libraries and moved between driving devices (data recorders) D0 to D3 and each cell, by means of a carrier 25. The carrier 25 takes out a medium held in the storing cell 23 to move to the driving device D0 to D3, removes the medium from there and inputs the medium to the carrier 25 to insert the transported medium to the driving device. The carrier 25 takes out the recording medium each time of stopping at the storing cell 23 or the driving devices D0 to D3 and inserts a next recording medium. Thereby, the time for transporting the recording medium between the storing cell 23 and the data recorder 22 is minimized to improve the operation efficiency of the system.</p> |
