<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the deterioration of a smoothing capacitor and to stop a brushless DC motor rectifying a commercial power supply and using a DC voltage obtained by smoothing as a power supply. <P>SOLUTION: In a power converter, a control section 5g includes: a means 5c for detecting a ripple factor of voltage across the capacitor 4; a means 5d for deciding whether the ripple factor is a predetermined value or more; and a motor-stop means 5f. In the power converter, the switching operation of a switching element 13a for an inverter 13 is stopped when the ripple factor reaches the fixed value or more. Accordingly, the vibration and noise of the motor can be prevented. The heat generation of the capacitor 4 can also be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
