The device has a main valve (14) e.g. 3/2 way valve, for controlling fluid application of a subordinated fluid actuator (13). The main valve is switched from a normal position to an open position by an actuator unit. The main valve and the actuator are connected together by a pressure maintaining device (34) such that fluid application of the actuator is sustained when the main valve is switched back from the opening position into a normal position. The device (34) has a valve unit (35) that comprises a shuttle valve (37) for controlling a switch valve (36).
