The system comprises a signal processing unit (14), which produces a display signal depending on a received monitoring signal. The display signal is produced by the signal processing unit, which comprises an acoustic constraint of the received monitoring signal. The monitoring signal is gained at a signal input of a receiver (4). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a portable transceiver for monitoring a hearing aid; and (2) a method for monitoring a hearing aid.
