The present invention discloses a method for providing multicast services, including: receiving a multicast service request sent by a UE through an IMS network; obtaining the media transmission parameters of the multicast media streams; sending a response to the UE through the IMS network, with the media transmission parameters carried in the response; and sending the multicast media streams corresponding to the media transmission parameters to the UE. Further, the present invention discloses a system providing multicast services and a multicast service support system. The technical solution of the present invention enables IMS-based multicast services.
