PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire content information on music data later even if the content information cannot be acquired when recording in an HDD the music data recorded in a CD. SOLUTION: If the content information cannot be acquired from an external server when the music data in the CD is recorded in the HDD, TOC information is recorded in the HDD, and a correspondence relationship among the TOC information, the music data and a track number is recorded in the HDD. Whether the TOC information is recorded in the HDD is regularly determined, and, when the TOC information is recorded, acquisition of the content information is tried again using the TOC information. If the content information can be acquired, music data for which content information should be recorded is specified by referring to the correspondence relationship among the TOC information, the music data and the track number, and the content information is recorded in association with the music data.
