<p>An indoor unit for an air conditioner, in which there is no risk that a user makes contact with an ascending panel. An indoor unit (1) of a ceiling-mounted type air conditioner is provided with a body (2), a flat panel (3), a signal receiving section (6), and a panel operation controlling section (11). The flat panel (3) can take a locked state and an unlocked state. In the unlocked state, the flat panel (3) can descend to below the body (2). The signal receiving section (6) can receive an ascent command for the flat panel (3). When electric power to the indoor unit (1) is turned on when the flat panel (3) is in the unlocked state, the signal receiving section (6) receives the ascent command for the flat panel (3), and based on this, the panel operation controlling section (11) controls operation of the flat panel (3) so that the flat panel (3) ascends.</p> |
