<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that causes no phenomenon of producing shade on a projection screen while having a light adjusting mechanism capable of greatly controlling quantity of light from a light source and that can make an illuminating optical system comparatively small. <P>SOLUTION: With a string SR wound, a light shielding member 71 as a whole rotates around a fixed axis 71c because a rigidity forming section RF of the string SR is engaged with a projection part PB of a first blade member 71a. When the light shielding member 71 becomes a laterally stretched state, the engagement is released by an engagement releasing projection HK, with a force imparted to a second blade member 71b. As a result, the second blade member 71b rotates around a connecting axis 71d. By the movement of rotating the entire light shielding member 71 and by the movement of rotating the second blade member 71b, the light shielding member 71 is elongated to shield illumination light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
