PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet a demand that temperature of an ink in a recording head is to be accurately detected, because characteristic, such as viscosity, of the ink used in an inkjet printer changes according to temperature and an amount of ejected ink increases or decreases if the recording head is driven at the same drive voltage though the temperature of the ink changes. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, an ejection element of the recording head is driven by inkjetting drive voltage to eject the ink to thereby form an image, and the temperature of the ink flowing in the recording head and the temperature of the ink discharged therefrom are detected by a first temperature detection part and a second temperature detection part. The amount of the ejected ink is controlled by correcting the inkjetting drive voltage based on the temperature of the ink whose heat is transferred by the ejection element and which is estimated from the detected temperature by a predetermined conversion expression.
