<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series of techniques for specifying a new biomarker for reflecting the future sideration risk of diabetic nephropathy to utilize the same. <P>SOLUTION: An animal suffering from diabetic nephropathy or an animal having a high future sideration risk is allowed to ingest a substance to be examined and the concentration of at least one of eight kinds of marker substances in the body fluid of the animal is compared with a reference value to evaluate the improving effect of diabetic nephropathy possessed by the substance to be examined or the reduction effect of the future sideration effect. The concentration of the marker substance in the body fluid is also calculated by capturing the marker substance on a carrier on which a substance having compatibility with respect to the marker substance is fixed. A substance screening method utilizing this substance evaluation method and a determining method of the presence of the sideration of diabetic nephropathy using the marker substance as an index or the future sideration disk are also disclosed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
