PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a customer to make a selection with confidence and purchase merchandise without hesitation and to highly satisfy the customer with the purchased merchandise.

SOLUTION: A customer terminal device 410 in a merchandise purchase system for selecting merchandise through a computer network and transmitting a purchase request of the selected merchandise, displays merchandise related to information on merchandise transmitted from a server computer 420, receives the selection of desired merchandise out of the displayed merchandise, and transmits information on the selected merchandise to the server computer 420. The server computer 420 receives information on the selected merchandise from the customer terminal device 410, and transmits, to the customer terminal device 410, information related to the selected merchandise provided to the customer in purchasing the selected merchandise based on the received information. The customer terminal device 410 receives the information transmitted from the server computer 420 and displays the received information.
