<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink composition which is improved in drying suppression effect and writing performance in the water-based ink composition such as writing material represented by a highlighter pen. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based ink composition includes: (a) a block alkylene oxide derivative represented by general formula (I) Y-[O(EO)<SB>a</SB>-(AO)<SB>b</SB>-(EO)<SB>c</SB>-R]<SB>k</SB>; (b) a colorant; and (c) water. In the formula, Y indicates a residue group remaining after removing hydroxyl groups of a polyhydroxy alcohol having 3-6 hydroxyl groups, k the number of hydroxyl groups of the polyhydroxy alcohol, EO an oxyethylene group, AO a 3-6C oxyalkylene group, each added in a block form. a×k, b×k, and c×k are respectively an average number of added moles of the oxyethylene group, the 3-6C oxyalkylene group, and the oxyethylene group, and satisfy inequalities 0≤a×k≤100, 1≤b×k≤100, and 0≤c×k≤100, where (a+c)×k>1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
