<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser machining apparatus and a laser machining method for efficiently performing piercing by laser beam in a hollow metal workpiece such as a fuel injection nozzle, and improving machining accuracy thereof. <P>SOLUTION: After forming an injection hole 2 by the nanosecond laser beam, the picosecond laser beam is applied to the inner circumferential wall of the injection hole 2 to perform finishing work. A fuel injection nozzle 1 is rotated with the injection hole 2 as a rotation center, compressed gas is fed from a suction and feed nozzle 96 arranged outside the fuel injection nozzle 1, and compressed gas is sucked from a suction nozzle 94 inserted in the fuel injection nozzle 1. Metal vapor V produced by the application of the picosecond laser beam is force-fed inward of the fuel injection nozzle 1, and rapidly sucked and removed via the suction nozzle 94. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
