摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a light source device by properly cooling each portion of an arc tube to uniformly keep a temperature distribution around the arc tube and by preventing devitrification and blackening of the arc tube. <P>SOLUTION: A cooling structure of this light source device 1 is composed of an air supply port 171 provided in a housing 17, an exhaust port 173, a straightening plate 174, and a cooling fan 175. Although cooling air generated by the cooling fan 175 is introduced from the air supply port 171 on the bottom surface of the housing 17, and is circulated toward the straightening plate 174 on the upper surface of the housing 17, the cooling air is circulated outside the tip of a second sealing part 113 extending from an light emitting part 111 at this time so as not to directly cool the second sealing part 113. After the cooling air is led to the inside of a reflector 13 by the straightening plate 174 and cools each portion on the upper side of a lamp body 11, it is led to the lower part of the lamp body 11 along the elliptical curve of the reflector 13 and is exhausted from the exhaust port 173. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
