PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a specimen luminescence utilization method for temporally changing a specimen luminescence. SOLUTION: A plurality of specimens 20 22 pass through respective flow paths formed on a flow path base material, and are irradiated with excitation lights 16, 18 in respective flow path zones 12, 14 by operating an excitation apparatus 10. Spectrums are intra-excitation energy non-binary spectrums having wavelengths and intensities for causing the excitation lights 16, 18 to generate the luminescences 24, 26. The spectrums of the excitation lights 16, 18 are changed between at least two of the flow path zones 12, 14 so as to generate the luminescences in discrete small ranges within the same excitation energy area or cause a transition between them to be noncoherent. If the spectrums of the excitation lights 16, 18 are changed in units of the flow path zones 12, 14, the codes indicating information on the specimens 20, 22 are overlapped with the luminescences 24, 26 in a form temporally changed due to a movement in the flow paths.
