PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that cross-connection information cannot be used with each other in the network allowing coexistence of communication networks having different hierarchies. SOLUTION: The radio transmitting apparatus is connected to a network allowing coexistence of communication networks of different hierarchies (for example, a synchronous (SDH) network and an asynchronous (PDH) network). This radio transmitting apparatus is provided with at least a control means. This control means controls, at the time of transmission of a radio signal, to separate cross-connection information from an overhead region of an input transmitting hierarchical signal (for example, transmitting SDH signal) and multiplex and output cross-connection information to the overhead region of the transmitting radio frame signal, and at the time of reception of a radio signal, to separate cross-connection information from the overhead region of the input receiving radio frame signal and also to multiplex and output cross-connection information to the overhead region of the receiving hierarchical signal (for example, receiving SDH signal).
