PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold release film preventing a foreign matter and a defect from getting difficult to be observed, when conducting visual inspection by a crossed Nicols method that is representative one for defect inspection of a polarizing plate, and attaining high inspection precision. SOLUTION: This mold release film is a film having a mold release layer on one face of a polyester film having 7-18% of film haze, and 90% or more of image clarity value, and peeling force of a surface of the mold release layer is within a range of 10-100 mN/cm.
