PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical mill of high productivity and high milling-efficiency. SOLUTION: A concave part 8 is disposed on the central part of the upper face of a rotary table 2 onto which an object to be milled is charged. An ascending slope face 9 is formed from the bottom of the concave part 8 toward the outer circumferential edge of the rotary table 2 so that the object receiving centrifugal force climbs the slope face 9 and moves toward the outer circumference of the rotary table 2. Hence, the ratio of the speed of the object moving toward the outer circumference of the rotary table 2 relative to the rotation speed of the rotary table 2 is reduced, whereby the ratio of the unmilled object discharged from the rotary table 2 relative to the milled object is reduced notwithstanding that the rotation speed of the rotary table 2 is made higher than that of a prior art vertical mill.
