PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decurling mechanism capable of preventing any decurling process to a noncurled paper, and changing the roller pinch state without damaging a piece of paper at the decurling position when stopping the paper conveyance. SOLUTION: The decurling mechanism moves a decurling roller 82 around a conveying roller 81 by means of a position changing roller 83 to change the relative position of the decurling roller 82 to the conveying roller 81 to the decurling position at which a piece of paper web P2 is conveyed while being decurled and the conveyance position at which a paper sheet P1 is conveyed without being decurled. In this case, the clearance between the decurling roller 82 and the conveying roller when the decurling roller is located at the decurling position is set to be larger than that when the decurling roller is located at the conveyance position.
