PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find solvents suitable for conditioning of azo dyes containing a carboxylic ester group without causing decomposition or degradation reaction the dye. SOLUTION: In a method, azo dyes containing a carboxylic acid ester group are conditioned by using a glycol monoalkyl ether or a mixture of a glycol with a glycol dialkyl ether.
