The method involves assigning a rotating vehicle wheel to an electronic device. The electronic device is provided with a rotation sensor, which detects rotation of the vehicle wheel. A measuring value of the rotation sensor relating to a vehicle is transmitted to a fixed receiver. The electronic device has encoding unit, with which the rotation measuring data is encoded. A transponder (2) is deigned as a Radio frequency identification (RFID)-transponder. An independent claim is included for a system for detection of rotation of a vehicle wheel.
