PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacker crane capable of precisely stopping at an optimum stop position when a shelf and a luggage are transferred. SOLUTION: This stacker crane comprises an elevating stand 101 for elevating a luggage 130, drive means 122 for generating a driving force to elevate the elevating stand 101, a top idler installed at a top end in a range that the elevating stand 101 elevates, a bottom idler provided at a bottom end in a range that the elevating stand 101 elevates, a chain 120 connected to the elevating stand 101 on both ends and hooked around the top idler, the drive means 122, and the bottom idler from the elevating stand 101, and a rotation angle detector connected with a rotor rotating by a movement of a part of the chain 120 from the elevating stand 101 to the drive means 122 via the bottom idler.
