PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for a photosensitive layer in which the fouling resistance to dust, fingerprint, oil, cleaning liquid, a large quantity of toner or the like bringing about deterioration of an initial print image is improved. SOLUTION: The binder resin for a photosensitive layer contains 0.1 to 10.0 wt.% of a terminal-modified polycarbonate resin which has a terminal group represented by following general formula (A) and has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.05 to 0.50 dl/g, wherein R<SB>6</SB>and R<SB>7</SB>present a 1-10C alkylene group, R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>5</SB>present hydrogen atom, fluorine atom, chlorine atom, bromine atom, iodine atom, a 1-9C alkyl group, a 1-5C alkoxy group or a 6-12C allyl group and b denotes an integer of 1 to 100.
