PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery which has a high graphitization degree, has a high capacity mass density by using spherical graphite hardly to be crushed even in a repetition of charging and discharging, and is excellent in stability and security. SOLUTION: An electrode for use in the secondary battery is made of a carbon material, the carbon material is made of the spherical graphite and the spherical graphite is made of graphite crystals arranged radially from a center portion of the spherical graphite toward its surface.
