The box (10) has two front walls (26, 28), a cover (18) and a base (20) arranged opposite to the cover. Openings are provided in the base for accommodation of tubes e.g. flat tubes. A remodeled or folded shaped part e.g. punched sheet metal, includes two side walls (22), the front walls, the cover and the base. One of the side walls has a bulge for accommodating a connecting piece (44). The openings are mounted in the base. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for producing a box for accommodating a fluid (2) a heat exchanger.
