The present invention refers to a novel furnace for the lime production, which is characterised in that it comprises: a semi-hollow cylindrical-shaped body that is vertically located. A circular mouth, through which the furnace is supplied with lime stone, is located at the upper portion of the semi-cylindrical body. The mouth is extended towards a loading chamber formed by a cylindrical cavity which lower end portion has a conical reduction that forms a calcination chamber, this latter element being the place where the carbon monoxide is dissociated so as to turn the lime stone into lime. A hot chamber is located under the funnel formed by the calcination chamber. Said hot chamber has a conical reduction a the upper portion thereof which is connected to the conical reduction of the calcination chamber, wherein the upper portion of the hot chamber includes an injection pipe through which exhausting gases resulting from a piston engine are supplied at high pressure. The hot chamber has , close to the lower portion thereof, a grid which comprises water sprayers resulting in a hydration section. Finally, the lower portion of the hot chamber is extended outside the cylindrical body so as to form a conical discharge nozzle, where a worm is actuated in order to purge the furnace.
