PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of quickly starting up a memory for storing image data into a stable operation status where the data transfer rate does not fall off during warm-up of the apparatus. SOLUTION: After start-up of an warm-up operation by power-on of the image forming apparatus (S101), temperature of a hard disc device mounted on the image forming apparatus is measured (S102). If the measured temperature is a temperature (20°C or less) where the data transfer rate of the hard disc device falls off (S103;Yes), dummy transfer to the hard disc device is performed for a prescribed period (S104), and the hard disc device is operated to accelerate temperature up. Furthermore, the dummy transfer of the prescribed period is carried out repeatedly until temperature of the hard disc device exceeds the set-up temperature (S105;No). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
