PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plastic optical fiber cable having high adhesiveness of a coating layer and excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a plastic optical fiber cable comprises: forming a plastic optical fiber having a core made of polymethyl mathacrylate or a copolymer of at least one of vinyl-based monomer and methyl methacrylate, and a clad having a layer as at least the outermost layer, made of a fluorine-containing olefin resin containing a tetrefluoroethylene unit and having a heat of crystal melt of≤40 mJ/mg; and forming a coating inner layer (A) and a coating outer layer (B) together around the fiber; and heat treating the product at 90°C to 110°C for 2 to 60 minutes.
