摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine having both blowdown gas inflow cylinders and blowdown gas generation cylinders for positively suppressing the occurrence of knocking even during transient operation in which an operation region is in transition. SOLUTION: In a variable valve gear operation permitting period not overlapping with exhaust strokes of the blowdown gas inflow cylinders (#1, #3, #2, #6) upon transition from an internal EGR region to a scavenging region, a bypass side exhaust variable valve gear is operated, and the lift amount of a bypass side exhaust valve is increased from a small lift amount to a large lift amount. The blowdown gas inflow cylinders (#1, #3, #2, #6) in which the internal EGR gas amount is easily increased are thereby scavenged with high priority. As a result, the internal EGR amount of the blowdown gas inflow cylinders (#1, #3, #2, #6) is sufficiently reduced, and the occurrence of knocking accompanying advance of an ignition period is positively suppressed.
