PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging apparatus capable of charging a lithium ion battery safely and surely without the need for arranging a high-precision constant voltage control circuit. SOLUTION: The charging apparatus 1 includes a charging means 6 for charging a battery pack 2a, a battery voltage detecting means 9 for detecting a voltage value of the battery pack 2a, an adjusting means 40 capable of adjusting a reference voltage value, a display means 80 which displays that the reference voltage value adjusted by the adjusting means 40 agrees with the voltage value detected by the battery voltage detecting means 90, and a control means 50 which controls a charging voltage based on the reference voltage value adjusted by the adjusting means 40 and the voltage value detected by the battery voltage detecting means 90.
