PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high-purity phenyl (meth)acrylate by separating phenyl (meth)acrylate from phenols in a purification process in a method for producing phenyl (meth)acrylate. SOLUTION: The method for producing phenyl (meth)acrylate comprises collecting a fraction consisting essentially of phenyl (meth)acrylate by distillation from a solution after a reaction between one compound selected from (meth)acrylic acid, (meth)acrylic anhydride and a lower alkyl (meth)acrylate and phenol in the presence of a catalyst, adding boric acid to the fraction and carrying out distillation to purify phenyl (meth)acrylate.
