<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pop-up hood apparatus for a vehicle, which extends a rod to push up a hood upon operation of an actuator in the event of a collision with a colliding object, effectively absorb collision energy when a collision load of at least a predetermined value is input in the vicinity of a hood push-up position. <P>SOLUTION: The pop-up hood apparatus is configured such that, when the rod 20 moves axially to an upper side of the hood, as the actuator 18 operates, to push up the rear end side of the hood 12 and hold it at that position and, if a collision load of at least the predetermined value is then applied in the vicinity of the push-up position from the upper side of the hood, a pressing portion 54 slides a push-up surface 38 of a hinge arm 30 to the rear side of the vehicle, whereas the rod 20 is deformed in a flexural manner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
