PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillation circuit and an oscillator reduced in current consumption, to prevent a malfunction caused by communication with the outside, and to provide the high accuracy oscillation circuit and the oscillator. SOLUTION: The oscillation circuit 10 is equipped with an interface circuit 12 for performing communication with the outside, and an oscillation stage 20. The oscillation circuit includes: an external communication terminal 40 of a communication signal which is connected to the interface circuit 12, and input and output in/from the interface circuit 12; and an outside control terminal 38 which is connected to a control signal input terminal of the interface circuit 12, and inputs the control signal for switching the interface circuit 12 into an active state or a sleep state. The interface circuit 12 turns into either the active state or the sleep state according to the control signal input into the interface circuit 12 through the outside control terminal 38 or the control signal input terminal.
