METHOD FOR PREPARING STIRIPENTOL PARTICLE WITH PRESCRIBED PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing stiripentol particles with a prescribed particle size distribution in a high yield which can be carried out at an industrial scale. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the stiripentol particles comprises: (i) a step of dissolving stiripentol in an aromatic solvent, (ii) a step of crystallizing stiripentol from the solvent, and (iii) recovering the resulting stiripentol particles. Recrystallization of stiripentol from the aromatic solvent enables achievement of prescribed particle size distribution without requiring subsequent pulverizing and/or screening steps.
