PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image having a deep field depth, and high resolution and sharpness in an ultrasonic probe used in an ultrasonographic device which transmits an ultrasonic wave from a piezoelectric vibrator into a specimen, receives a reflected ultrasonic wave by the piezoelectric vibrator and displays an image based on the received signal. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe 1 is provided with a piezoelectric vibrator 10 having a normal three layer structure of: a piezoelectric film layer 11 for transmitting an ultrasonic wave;, an acoustic matching layer 12 interposed between the piezoelectric film layer 11 and a specimen so as to match the acoustic impedance; and a damper layer 14 interposed between the piezoelectric film layer 11 and a part of the piezoelectric vibrator 10 being fixed to a housing 3. The ultrasonic probe 1 is further provided with an acoustic amplification layer 13 having a cavity 15 between the piezoelectric film layer 11 and the damper layer 14. Hence, a larger level of transmission wave can be transmitted, and the transmission wave can also be received with a higher sensitivity, which results in enhancement of piezoelectric characteristics of the piezoelectric vibrator 10.
