摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically correct the positional deviations of respective optical modulation elements corresponding to the respective color components of a projector, and to enable positional deviation correction with a simple configuration and a small operation amount. SOLUTION: A projector includes: optical sensors OS1 to OS4 which detect the light quantity of measurement light for obtaining the positional deviation amounts of the respective optical modulation elements 150R, 150G and 150B corresponding to a plurality of color components (RGB), output from the respective optical modulation elements, in a prescribed position between the respective optical modulation elements and the projection optical system, when the measurement light is given to the respective optical modulation elements; a positional deviation detecting section which detects the positional deviation amounts and positional deviation directions of the respective optical modulation elements, on the basis of the light quantities detected by the optical sensors; and a positional deviation correction control section which corrects the positional deviations of the respective optical modulation elements, on the basis of the positional deviation amounts and positional deviation directions.
