PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid inhibition of growth of flame in a spark plug for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The spark plug (1) is for an internal combustion engine. The spark plug (1) is provided with a center electrode (11), consisting of a fist part (11b) extending in one direction and a second part (11c) connected to a tip of the first part and extending in a direction of crossing the one direction; and an insulator (13) at least partially covering an outer periphery face at a root side of the center electrode and a grounding electrode (12) surrounding the insulator from an outer periphery side, and opposed to the second part with an interval.
