PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of feeding paper sheets capable of well eliminating the clogging of paper sheet in a blast tube when the paper sheets are fed by air flow. SOLUTION: A paper sheet feeder comprises the blast tube 22 and an air flow generator 24 for generating an air flow in the blast tube 22. In the method, the paper sheets 32 are fed by the paper sheet feeder in the blast tube 22. When the paper sheet 32 is clogged in the blast tube 22, the movement of the paper sheets 32 is promoted by acting a physical force on the paper sheet 32 to eliminate the clogging of the paper sheet 32. For this purpose, the physical force is made to act on the paper sheet 32 by varying the velocity of the air flow generated by the air flow generator 24 in the blast tube 22. The physical force is made to act on the paper sheet 32 by opening and closing an outside air introduction hole 208 formed in the blast tube 22 by a valve to allow the outside air to flow into the blast tube 22 for generating a disturbance in the air flow.
