<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device promptly deploying and properly receiving a pedestrian and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device 10 includes an airbag 20, an inflator 15 jetting gas into the airbag 20, a pipe 16 coupling the airbag 20 and the inflator 15, a detecting means detecting collision, and a controlling means actuating the inflator by a signal from the detecting means. The airbag device 10 expands the airbag 20 disposed along a front pillar 2 on the outside of a vehicle. A bag case 12 is provided, which covers the folded and stored airbag 20 and deploys with the expansion of the airbag 20.
