PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional vessel with a lid prevented from falling off in use, wherein many such vessels prevent the lid from falling off by tightening the fitting of the lid for example, which necessitates attaching/detaching of the lid with a force or requires special troublesome hand operation, and which therefore is inconvenient particularly for a weak elderly person or a physically impaired person. SOLUTION: On the opposite side from the spout of a vessel, there is installed a device to prevent the lid from falling off, comprising a gravity-dependent moving part 1 that operates by gravity and a lid holding part 2 that, linked with this gravity-dependent moving part 1, varies a distance from the lid. As a result, when the vessel is tilted for pouring, the gravity-dependent moving part 1 is activated by the gravity and, the lid holding part 2 interlocked therewith comes close to the lid to hold the lid, preventing it from falling off, and thus solving the problem.
