A biaxially oriented two-layer coextruded film comprises polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polyethylene 2,6-naphthalate (PEN). The PET or PEN includes comonomer-derived units, ethylene glycol and/or terephthalic acid or naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid. The film comprises base layer and exterior outer layer, where base layer has white pigment and laser absorber coated with carbonizing polymer.
